Bab el-Mandeb cargo transits rose to 290, Lloyd’s List reported
Lloyd’s List Intelligence reported on Oct 1 that Bab el-Mandeb cargo transits reached 290 for Sept 21–27, up from 264 the prior week. The Armed Conflict Location and Event Data project recorded 10 Houthi attacks on commercial ships since July.
Why it mattersHouthi blockade threats expose Saudi-linked vessels and oil export routes passing through the strait to attacks.
