Hydroinfo projects Budapest water levels falling to 11 cm by October 1
Budapest river gauges are set to slip from 30 cm down to 11 cm by Oct 1, according to Hydroinfo projections issued on Sept 27. Large parts of the Danube middle basin face alert drought conditions.
Why it mattersUnusually shallow water limits river navigation and halts movement for some larger vessels.
